Dr. Stephanie Seneff is a Senior Research Scientist at MIT's Computer Science and Artificial Intelligence Laboratory in Cambridge, Massachusetts, USA. She has a BS degree from MIT in biology and a Ph.D. from MIT in electrical engineering and computer science.

Her recent interests have focused on the role of toxic chemicals and micronutrient deficiencies in health and disease, with a special emphasis on the pervasive herbicide, Roundup, and the mineral, sulfur.

She has authored over two dozen peer-reviewed journal papers over the past few years on these topics.

sulfur/sulfate deficiency; glyphosate (Roundup); glyphosate & vaccines (especially MMR); autism. Reasons should be obvious!

Dr. Stephanie shares three things we all need to do right now:
1. Switch to a 100% certified organic whole foods diet to the extent possible.

2. Spend significant time outside in the sunlight without sunscreen and without sunglasses. At least 20min a day.

3. Eat foods that are rich in healthy fats (such as grass-fed beef, organic eggs) and that are rich in sulfur (seafood, eggs, cheese, cruciferous vegetables, onions, garlic). Also, eat lots of herbs and spices and fermented foods.

"My own personal journey to healing began in early childhood. As a product of an abusive home life, developing an autoimmune disorder in my early years, constantly attracting abusive intimate relationships to my experience as I grew up, and other traumatic occurrences along the way, I knew I had to turn over every stone to heal my own life story.

I went through too many relationships and divorces to keep doing the same over and over again.

I began studying psychology and emotional healing at the age of 17. I sought out teachers, mentors, and healers for the autoimmune disease that was destroying my life. I searched for the answers for my relationship woes and financial gurus to change my money story.

Basically, every area of my life needed transformation.

My world was in turmoil! I knew I was a good person. I knew I was a good mom, sister, daughter, friend, wife, lover and friend. The life I sought, somehow, eluded me for a very long time. I was hungry, determined and committed to overcoming these obstacles and living the desires of my heart!

My spiritual gifts began at the tender age of 3 years old. I felt a deep connection to Spirit and later was introduced to Jesus through Catholic School and church. I felt the presence of Christ around me throughout my entire childhood and adult life! And, still, do. For this, I am more than grateful.

All the while, I was called, “the preacher gal”, “the counselor”, “the evangelist”, because of my innate ability to counsel, coach and guide others through their traumatic events and life crises. More often than not, these traumatic events and life crises were centered around relationships. My belief is that our relationships are the key area to bettering our life experience in every area of our lives. This has and will always be my personal God gift.

Through healing my own life story, I knew that I had to take this gift to the next level and help as many on their journey as possible. Thus, began my professional training and certifications in the field of self-development, healing, and spiritual awakening.

I combine my spiritual teachings, the neuroscience of change, deep emotional healing and quantum physics to create my own technique to reveal and heal the remnants of wounds, negative stories, limiting belief systems and spiritual blocks, that ultimately keep people stuck and repeating the same disappointing cycles over and over again in their life.

The combination of these techniques is an alchemy. Together, healing of the mind, emotions, body and spirit, alchemize into knowing and becoming your soul essence.

I have had the wonderful opportunity of watching my clients move quickly from the burdensome past, into a bright, beautiful future of their own making. After working with me, they can say goodbye to being a victim and hello to becoming a victor over their New Life Story. I have watched as my clients go from hopelessness, depression, despair and doubt, to hopefulness, joy, peace and hope. For this transformation to occur, is a blessing from the Heavens.

My entire life experience has prepared me for this mission. My training includes wonderful mentors in the field of emotional healing, effective communication, healthy relationships, neuroscience of change and spiritual awareness. I have dedicated my life to assisting the lives of men and women around the world to heal from their past experiences and guide, teach and empower them to create their future. My internationally acclaimed programs and services have helped over 5,000 women in the past year alone.

I come from a place of compassion, empathy, and understanding, as my life story has prepared me for this role in my life. It is my destiny to become the clear channel of messages and guide my clients to a life with bliss and purpose. Three keys that Theresa teaches us:
1. What is your body telling you? Is your body asking for better eating habits? More exercise? More rest? A cleaner way of living? Honor what your body is screaming at you to do!

2. Reduce stress! Learn practical ways to calm yourself, your body, your mind and your spirit. Join a yoga class, or meditation or tai chi. These practices will create a calm in your body that will lift your mood, clear your mind and allow more peace to flow in.

3. Have fun! Life can be so heavy and stressful. Allow yourself the freedom to play again! Laughter doeth the heart like a good medicine!

Ayurvedic medicine is one of the world's oldest holistic “whole-body” healing systems. Developed over 3,000 years ago in India Ayurveda is based on the belief that health and wellness can be achieved by balancing the mind, body, and spirit.

In our interview, Dr. Michele shares how she gained her health back using Ayurvedic medicine by focusing on sleep, nutrition, and exercise.

She loves teaching others how they can heal and get healthy again!

As an MD that specializes in podiatry, many of her patients come to her with circulation issues and diabetes. Now she helped them to heal their feet and heal their life holistically so they can resolve the root causes of their health issues.

Byron Morrison - Weight Loss In A Busy World

Weight Loss Achieved In 3 Simple Steps 

I have been on around 30 diets my whole life. Being caught up in that roller coaster ride regarding weight loss is so familiar.  

But how then can we stop this weight loss madness? And shift this mindset from chasing this dream, constantly judging ourselves and feeling worse?  My guest today will show us how to achieve weight loss that in 3 simple steps.  

The Old Me  

Byron Morrison says a few years ago, he had absolutely no interest in health, nutrition or exercise. He was 50 pounds heavier and had a negative mindset and outlook in life. Then his dad was diagnosed with cancer. That, he says, became the eye-opener to take good care of his health and achieve weight loss.   

Morrison also used to work in marketing. It was a huge factor why he gained weight. Then he studied nutrition and eventually got qualified as a personal trainer. A few more years down the line, he wrote his book so he can help a lot of people.  

Diet Myths  

"Dieting is all about restriction. For me it is a short-term fix for what is essentially a long-term problem," Morrison says. "From a basic psychology point of view, as soon as you tell yourself you can't have something, it makes you want it more. That's why dieting doesn't work."  

He also says to stop dieting and eat in a way that is beneficial to your health. At the end of the day, it's all about balance. Your focus is not about being perfect. It's about people changing their mindset from becoming better.  

Morrison says our lives are stressful as it is. There are so many diets out there and it is a multi-million dollar business. From a business viewpoint, he explains this is because people tend to hop on one diet after the other.   

"Everything in our society is based on finding a streamline way of achieving a goal," he said. "We need to shift society's mindset to accept that it's not always about weight loss. Enjoy the journey for what it is."  

Three Steps  

First of all, Morrison says those people in the magazines don't even look like that. What he normally has people do is forget the diet.   

Here are his 3 simple steps:  

1. Eat vegetables every single meal 

  • It will improve your energy, avoid nutrient deficiency and improves bodily functions.  

2. Drink more water on a daily basis 

  • At least 2 liters of water daily will give you more energy, kickstarts your metabolism and your bodily functions will improve. Drink water 15-20 minutes before meals.  Because it is easy to confuse signs of dehydration with hunger.  

3. Walk more on a daily basis 

  • We often overlook the activity of walking. Gradually walk longer. Be mindful that you need to do it. It prevents us from disease, improves cardiovascular endurance and burns calories.   

If you get to focus on those three things, none of them are daunting or overwhelming. We can easily incorporate this in our daily routine.   

Morrison also shares that when he celebrated the launch of his book, he ran an online challenge.  He got a group of people to do those 3 steps. The whole goal was for them to stop dieting and start living up.    

Results were amazing. Morrison shared that they were all felt better. Their mood and energy went up and focused better. The average weight loss during the week was 2 to 6 pounds. There's no need to do any radical changes. 

Learning To Like Vegetables  

Simply put, it's bringing us back to the basics. Eating vegetables, drinking water and walking --- there's no controversy there.   

In fact, I've been studying about super foods and how different vegetables have massive healing properties. Broccoli for example, has over 1000 nutrients.   

However, Morrison says supplements should be paired with a good diet. And he's not a big fan of supplements. Because he tells people to get their nutrients from their diet as much as possible.    

He also suggests that one way is that you can blend them to make soups, sauces or stir fry. Because lot of people say they don't like vegetables.   

"You can make meals that are quick and easy to make. Another way is through juicing. Figure out what works for you," Morrison said. "Food is one of the few things in life that we can actually control. Because we feel so helpless and overwhelmed in over areas of our lives, we kind of abuse that control."  

We need to do delayed gratification. Every time I wanted to buy or eat something, I take time and ask myself if that's what I really want. And I noticed that every time I did that, I tell myself I don't want it or I don't need it.   

Morrison explains that if you look at all the psychology behind it, a lot of our relationship with food and link back to our childhood. So when we are getting stressed and overwhelmed, we crave that feeling of safety.   

And that makes us turn to comfort food that has sugar and high fat. In fact, Morrison reveals that sugar is found to be 8 times more addictive than cocaine. The body craves it more as you eat chocolates and candy. One must reduce the intake and enjoy more natural foods.  

It's so true. Since starting my podcast, I'm learning from so many wonderful people in the health field. And it sure is influencing my life.   

Now I'm trying all sorts of new vegetables. I can't believe how delicious they are! For example, cabbage tastes so good.   

You can actually cut up cabbage like the size of crackers. Eat it raw and use it in a dip like hummus. It is so delicious, crunchy and crisp.  

Become A Better You  

Morrison's book has a holistic approach to improving your well-being. Rather than just looking at diet and exercise, it discusses all the factors involved.  

This includes your mindset, managing stress, how much rest and recovery you get, improving your relationship with food.

Morrison also has an 8-week interactive online course where you get to be part of a community. He also does one-on-one consultations.   

Personally, I love what he wrote---that this book contains everything that he wished he told himself back before he started this journey. So many times I think back and wished I can give my younger self some advice. I'm happy he took this time to put this book together.   

"It takes you on a journey of self realization," Morrison said. "The goal is not perfection but rather to become a better version of you."

Jill Mattson - The Science of Sound Healing

Music Healing: The Soothing Your Way To Optimal Health

I'm really intrigued that we are affected by energy. How do sound and music affect us? My guest today is an award-winning musician, healer, and author---Jill Mattson.

Music healing is what Mattson will explain to us in detail. She will teach us all about how we can use music, vibration, and sound to bring balance and healing to our body.

Mattson's Journey to Music Healing

Mattson was a musician since she was 3 or 4 years old. It's always been a core of her life. But in her midlife, she was writing a book---an autobiography of God. It was a spiritual quest.

That time, Mattson says she was a very conservative Christian. She decided to rewrite the Old Testament from the viewpoint of God.

"I was horrified that God was moody and did some nasty things. And I had an epiphany," she said. "Whatever concept I had of God, that is going to reflect on who I am."

So Mattson decided to release all dogma other than God is love. She started to search the world for this. Mattson looked for a new bible and that led her to the Kabbalah and other teachings.

That started Mattson's 25-year quest. When she read all the inner teachings of all the great avatars on earth, she discovered something.

Mattson discovered all had secrets wherein they could transform or manipulate people. It was the underlying mathematics of music. Carefully crafted to give you a certain emotion.

These masters she said, consider this to be very powerful. Hence, they were careful in making sure it does not get in the hands of selfish people.

The Power of Music

Mattson says she spent 25 years understanding how to calculate, device, create frequency matrixes, rhythms, and patterns to do anything. Hence, this power can be used for health, generically and specifically, to transform personal qualities.

In addition to that, it can be used to fill your aura full of light. Or balance your intestines. Furthermore, it can be used in a wide variety of applications.

Music has such an effect on us because science shows that our heartbeat, feelings, and thoughts are around us.  It's amazing how many unheard little frequencies we ingest.

Secret Sounds Ultimate Healing

In Mattson's  book "Secret Sounds Ultimate Healing," she talks about the work of Sharry Edwards who had this extraordinary hearing. If she walks past you, she can tell if you have an illness.

If your body is correcting something, it always creates the same frequency. Just like little cell transmissions or communications. To tell the body how to heal itself of any malady.

That led Edwards to develop a software that aligns with the frequency of everything in our world. It gives new hope for diseases of which modern medicine has nothing to offer.

Deep Wave Beauty

Mattson's Deep Wave Beauty CD can make you can look at the soundwaves. And go in and alter them.

It is a gorgeous, new age classical music CD. Furthermore, it contains frequencies associated with music healing the body.

"Everytime you feel a negative emotion, through the science of resonance, that negativity is going to transfer some place in your body," Mattson explains. "And you're going to store it."

She also said the sound is a subtle energy so listening once is not enough. You have to absorb enough for music healing to make a difference.

Ancient Sounds Modern Healing

In her Ancient Sounds Modern Healing book, it explains that after one listens to patterns of sound, their aura is filled with light. And that's the "white light" energy that you feed into your body.

Furthermore, Mattson suggests listening to healing sounds to lower stress. In addition to that, sound travels in different volumes and in different methods in the body. Hence, the most powerful method in music healing she says is in subtle tones.

"All my music takes you right down in a real good spot. And the background I have all my frequency healing going on," said Mattson. "So it works both ways. The frequencies work and the music calms."

Binaural Beats

Originally, I was trying to find an expert on binaural beats. Consequently, my friend lost a bunch of weight and it took was listening to binaural beats of athletes.

I thought it was crazy and could not do it for more than half an hour. As a result, I felt high as a kite.

The I felt my body was detoxing. Yet it was amazing. So I had to do binaural beats in small chunks.

"Binaural beats dependent upon using headphones, measuring the cycle per second of a brain wave. It dials up a certain brain wave in your head," explains Mattson. "Consequently, there are sounds that you can only hear in one ear. Hence, we hear in surround sound."

Protecting Ourselves from Energy From Others

First of all, Mattson says if you play transformative music, you heal everybody in the room. It's like drive-by healing. They won't even know what you're doing.

"The stronger wave always overcome the lesser. If you're full of peace and love, just feel it," said Mattson. "Your very being can be the stronger wave. And it can be you that alters them."

Does Volume Matter?

Thre are two kinds of volume:

  1. How many times you listen to it.
  2. How loud it is.

You don't want the volume so high that it hurts your ears and damage hearing. The more you focus on the music, the more you ingest it.

Mattson says our body is conscious. And when you need a frequency, interval or harmonic pattern, your body is going to release endorphins.

"Music through the ages, it sculpts us on a more individual basis," she said. "Making us more our own person."

Feel the Change

Finally, Mattson believes our body needs all of the frequencies for health. The best sound generator is our voice.

Music healing tips to try:

  1. There's an ancient method called toning. In the morning, start with a deep pitch.
  2. Keep on that tone until your voice moves on its own. It will slowly start to go up.
  3. When you get stuck on a tone, you need that tone for health.
  4. Hum until your voice gets up again. The whole process takes 15 minutes.
  5. Keep doing the toning exercise to slowly heal yourself. Your body absorbs sound. And it's intelligent. It will pick out the frequency that you need.

Justin Stenstrom - How To Have More Confidence

Gain Confidence In 5 Amazingly Simple Steps

My guest today will teach us some doable tips on how to gain confidence. I'm so excited to have Justin Stenstrom, who is the host of Elite Men Magazine podcast.  He is also slated to launch another podcast which is just as informative as it is entertaining.

Elite Men Vs. Justin Stenstrom Podcast

Stenstrom says that Elite Men focuses one topic per episode. He, along with his guest, strategize different steps on how to master that topic.

The Justin Stenstrom show is more free-flowing and relaxed. This show has a more intimate vibe and dives a little more into the backstory of the guests.

How He Became Elite Man

First of all, when Stenstrom was 17 or 18 years old,  he had severe anxiety, depression and panic attacks 3 or 4 times a week. Furthermore, he relates had no social life and dating life. Hence, he had no self-esteem at all. It was an awful time to say the least.

After having a severe panic attack, Stenstrom was even thinking of committing suicide. Yet one day, he decided to figure out these issues. Stenstrom went online and came across this self-help community.

He said lot of the techniques to gain confidence did work. And started implementing these strategies. Finally, through trial and tribulation he was able to overcome these problems.

Stenstrom said his journey to gain confidence took a few years. He resolved to help others through the Elite Men concept.

Living With A Stereotype

"I myself have lived for years under that stereotype. I kept a lot of things inside me. A lot of my issues were built over time, not expressing myself and not talking about my feelings especially dating," Stenstrom said.

In addition to that, "I had a big problem with dating. My first career endeavor was giving advises on dating and gain confidence," he said. "I'd meet these guys who had problems with dating."

Stenstrom also said that when he started to share his story on the podcast, a lot of those men could relate to his past. They became stronger by realizing what was possible.

He also shared techniques to gain confidence on larger platforms like blogs and websites. Stenstrom says it's liberating to tell this side of the story. Consequently, to be a strong man and share this part of themselves.

In today's culture, men are frowned upon for having emotions and wanting to get help. In addition to that, it is perceived as being weak.

Giving Shy Guys Game

This is the first book Stenstrom wrote 5 years ago. It did pretty well with guys looking for dating advice. Then we went on to write several other e-books. The last one, "Approaching Women", is an Amazon bestseller.

Approaching Women

Stenstrom says the book is about how to talk to women.  It is not like this pick-up thing that a lot of guys hear about. Several guidelines are given on how to have a good conversation with women and how to meet them.

The Art of Dating

I agree with Stenstrom. Most people need to date in order to find their partner. I was living in Nevada and I dated for two years before I found my husband.

Let me tell you, it was brutal. I think more men needed Stenstrom's book back then.

My husband was shy but the universe gave him the confidence to talk to me. That got the ball rolling. Plus, the shy guys are usually the really nice ones.

Growing Up Having Confidence

To gain confidence is one of life's important values. You tend to have lower stress levels.

Your body, endocrine system and digestion is optimal. The parts of your brain that are responsible for retaining memory and learning are optimized.

So people who have confidence end up becoming smarter people. But it's not something easily taught or passed down.

Arrogance VS. Confidence

"There is a fine line between arrogance and confidence. Whatever you're learning in life, there's a good and bad part," Stenstrom said. "No matter what you're doing, there's always two sides to it. You just hope people use it for good."

Stenstrom's Steps To Gain Confidence

Step 1 - Pretend to be great. 

  1. If you use it the right way, this is incredibly powerful. Pretend to be someone who has incredible confidence.
  2. Someone who doesn't have confidence has no idea what it feels like to have one. But if you pretend to be someone who does, you get all this feedback from the environment.
  3. People act a certain way towards them. It's fake confidence at first. But when they see that people react better towards you, you start to get real confidence.

It totally makes sense. Just by shifting your physiology which is linked to our endocrine system and our neurology, it makes a difference. You are telling your body to shift your neuro transmitter response to be in that state of confidence.

"There is no one who is 100% unconfident in every aspect of life. Even a hard core shy guy like I was, everyone is somehow good at something," said Stenstrom.

Step 2 - Get out of your comfort zone

  1. Do things you don't normally do.
  2. When you push yourself then realize you can do it, your confidence grows.

I just had a flashback. When I took a 4-hour exam to become a trainer of Neuro-Linguistic Programming 10 years ago, I aced it. It was so uplifting and really boosted my confidence.

Then after giving birth naturally, I felt like I could conquer the world. Face your fears. Put yourself in a situation that's uncomfortable and live through it.

Step 3 - Have small wins

It builds you up over time. It's a lot easier to do.

It's like lifting weights. You can't come in and carry a heavy weight right away.  You gradually work up your way to achieve that.

Step 4 - Work on self-image

  1. Eat healthy.
  2. Get into the best possible physical shape you can be.
  3. Take supplements and dress well.

"Optimize the way you look and feel. We have natural anti-depressant hormones and chemicals in our body to make us feel good," said Stenstrom. "Nature has given us all we need for our happiness. But a lot of people neglect that part."

Studies show exercise increases the hormones of feeling great and decrease the stress hormones. Exercise has so many links to not only looking good but also long term feeling good.

Step 5 - Befriend bold and confident people

  1. Be around confident people.
  2. Pick-up what confident people are doing and saying.
  3. Hang out with people who have a positive outlook.

There's something really profound about letting go of control. It allows us to enjoy the moment. When that happens, we find out we are in control of our own state.

Finally, Stenstrom challenges all of you to go out, push yourself out of your comfort zone. Do something that scared the heck out of you. You will realize it is absolutely possible.

"You can't be in control of all aspect of life. But you can be in control of the way you handle things," Stenstrom explains.

Esther Nagle created a mask and comfort blanket out of alcohol for over 20 years. Wracked with self-loathing and shame, she had virtually no other coping strategies in life besides drinking. When life got difficult, that coping strategy made things worse, and Esther surrendered into a breakdown.

In today's interview Esther shares her story from hitting rock bottom several times to finding herself again through Yoga and self-exploration.

Through Yoga, she learned tools that helped her reach a place where she no longer needed alcohol. This showed her that Yoga is far more powerful than she ever realized, and she realized she had a message to share.

Esther wrote her first book last year, achieving a lifelong ambition.

She has spoken internationally and in the UK to share her experiences and wisdom.

She now helps people to untangle themselves and live a life of joyful sobriety, deep connection, and authentic living.

During our interview, Ether shares the power of the breath for mental and physical health.

She challenges the preconception that yoga is "just a stretching class".

Amelia Comolli is a Licensed Massage Therapist and Reiki practitioner who is passionate in all aspects of alternative healing.

She received her associate degree in Holistic Massage Science at Nashua Community College.

After receiving her license, Amelia immediately began working alongside Doctors of Chiropractic to treat all sorts of structural issues inside the body.

She now practices out of three offices in Massachusetts and New Hampshire.

Amelia also enjoys using her intuitive sense and trained Reiki abilities to give advice on furthering an individual's health journey after treatment.

"I enjoy talking about how massage therapy can help minor and major issues that a lot of people would normally go see their primary care for.

I deal with a lot of similar muscle and structural issues that people are usually told by western medicine to take some sort of NSAID or anti-inflammatory to ease the pain.

If the pain is really bad (or sometimes even minor!) allopathic doctors will prescribe some sort of narcotic. In my opinion, none of these are solutions and pain medications can often lead to addiction and other bodily issues.

I like to get to the root of the issue and fix the issues from the inside, instead of mask them. I have had patients come to see me who were in so much pain they couldn't walk.

Sometimes it takes a few sessions to get them back to feeling good enough to function normally, but I've had some patients so relieved of pain from one session that they walk out looking like a completely different person.

I like to talk about how bad the drug epidemic is and how I think a lot of it is coming from the push on doctors from our pharmaceutical companies.

I once had a friend who was prescribed Vicodin for a sinus infection! My own personal frustration dealing with western medicine is how I got to where I am today."

"When I was growing up I had some behavioral issues. My mom was a single mother and we had financial struggles for many years.

I was picked on a lot in school for living in not so optimal living conditions... and eventually, I became fed up and started to misbehave.

After years of struggling emotionally and having little interest in school... I was diagnosed with ADHD and prescribed Concerta around the age of 14. I didn't like the way it made me feel... so I didn't take it.

It made me feel irritable and not myself. It took away my imagination, sense of wonder and adventure. I continued to struggle through high school with my grades... but always had an interest in unusual topics and wondered about things we weren't learning in school.

Fast forward to my first year of college. I was scared, nervous and I wanted to succeed. I decided to try a new ADHD drug called Vyvanse prescribed by my new doctor in the new city I had moved to.

I was living with my cousin at the time and we were all seeing the same doctor. He had prescribed ALL of us the SAME medication for ADHD. I was 18 years old, very much into having fun and partying and now I was taking medication that kept me awake for days on end.

Sounds pretty fun, right?

The first thing I noticed about this new medication, besides not being able to sleep, is that I had no appetite when I was taking it. I started to lose weight really fast and I started drinking meal replacement shakes because I was getting headaches and feeling shaky from my low food intake.

I remember being so upset when I went home to visit my mom because she had made my favorite traditional family dish (salmon pie!) and I couldn't even stomach it. In high school I weighed a healthy 120 pounds, not too long after starting the medication I weighed about 90 pounds.

Every time I had a doctors appointment, my doctor would up my dosage of medication. I stopped feeling the "high" of the medication (awake, alert, happy, focused) and we decided that I needed to adjust my dose.

I started off at around 15mg of Vyvanse and by the time I stopped taking it I was taking THREE 70mg capsules a day!

At this point, I barely ate, barely slept and started to become extremely paranoid. One week I didn't sleep for three days in a row and I started to hallucinate. I was sick. I was malnourished. I was a mess.

My bones were sticking out and my skin was in bad condition. I took a step back and I said to myself... I need help. I decided to confess to my doctor that I felt that I was severely addicted to the Vyvanse and I wanted to come off of it.

I didn't feel healthy or well and if I went a day without taking it, I had no energy and stayed in bed all day depressed and crying. I was looking forward to coming up with some sort of treatment plan on how to get me off of the medication... but when I asked my doctor to help, he simply wrote me another prescription, looked me in the eyes and said: "you need it".

I was so upset. I figured that I had no choice but to do this on my own. I asked my boyfriend and best friend at the time if they would support me as I was coming off of this medication and although they didn't really understand what that mean, they obliged. A few weeks later I went completely cold turkey. It was the worst thing I have ever experienced and I don't wish anyone to go through what I went.

I could no longer go out in public because my anxiety was through the roof. I was having panic attacks and I was sure that I was becoming schizophrenic. I would occasionally feel like the room was caving in on me and I was having extreme hot flashes that made me feel like I was going to pass out. Several times I ended up in the ER from panic attacks.

The feeling of dread and want to go back to the medication lasted for several months. I thought about taking Vyvanse every day for at least a year after I quit. I finally got back to a normal state and started to feel the anger towards my "medical team" for taking advantage of a young and influential girl like myself.

I learned that the doctors were making money from the pharmaceutical companies for prescribing drugs, especially new ones like Vyvanse. After that, I began to hear stories that were similar to mine and even watched my mother struggle with addiction to narcotics after a failed back surgery.

She turned into someone I felt I didn't even know and eventually ended up in the hospital to have a FOOT of her intestines cut out because she was so backed up from the medication. I felt failed by our doctors.

These people who I felt were such elite and trustworthy beings now had a dark cloud over them. That is when I decided to start working with herbs and supplements on myself and began going to school for Holistic Health and Massage Therapy.

I now enjoy working with people with chronic pain (like my mama!) and figuring out treatment plans and specified massages to help people alleviate their pain."

Three Pieces of Advice From A Massage Therapist:

1. Epsom salt baths to heal sore muscles- Epsom Salt contains magnesium which is extremely relaxing for the body. It seeps through your skin during a nice hot bath and relaxes sore muscles. It is also a great detox for the body.

2. Problems massage can help with that you might not know of- Plantar Fasciitis, headaches, TMJ or pain in your jaw from grinding or clenching your teeth, sinus problems, detoxification, anxiety, depression, and trauma to name a few :)

3. The importance of touch- Hug your friends, massage your friends, get massages... Don't be afraid to give loving and safe touch to others! Back when orphanages were overflowing with children, around the great depression, infant children were having all of their normal necessities met (food, diaper changes, mildly comfortable crib) but were not surviving. At the time, they had no idea what was going on. Later they found that nurturing touch is essential for growing infants and that without it their lives are at risk. Many were experiencing organ failure and other ailments that often lead to death. If touch was so important for us as infants... think of the benefits we can still receive from touch in our adult lives. Touch is healing.
